I've usually got half a dozen ideas bubbling away, but then I do seem to be better at coming up with the ideas than coming up with the required investment or the marketing oomph. Hence my poverty.

Still, here's a current selection with relevant links – comments, offers of partnership, funding always welcome.

FP SiteReview
... a fixed-price "what's wrong with your website" service for local firms, including marketing goals as well as the more usual design and web page technology issues
Business Class ebooks
... practical, inexpensive downloadable how-to books covering (a) marketing subjects for small businesses and (b) tip lists for getting more out of specific desktop applications software
  WebClub
... franchisable after-school internet club with a ten-session syllabus introducing kids to searching, safe surfing and website design. Initially aimed at KS2 kids (year 5-7, say) but with loads of potential. Preliminary work done, and I've tested it on a couple of trial groups; but it's missing a window of opportunity, and it needs an investor and/or partner urgently! Contact me here for more information.
Training

... I can do short courses (half a day min, two days max) on a number of subjects broadly implied by the skills and interests on view in this website. Contact me for specific information, but these topics have proved successful:

  • Customer care: what does 'customer service' mean for the organisation, why it matters, why and what you can do about it
  • Office extras: going beyond the basics — a collection of tips 'n' tricks for Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer and the Windows desktop, all designed to make Office and Windows work harder for you and fit the way you want to work
  • Marketing matters: for the smaller business, a movable feast covering the basics of marketing (what, how, why — lots of emphasis on branding, positioning, customer relationships) followed by as much depth as you need on advertising, direct mail, email and the web, any other specifics you want ...
  • The Internet for beginners: a crash course on when and where the web and email might be relevant for the small business, with no punches pulled about the proper value of a website and the correct level of expectation
